~ Homage to Europe ~

On 25 March 1987, at the Italian Cultural Institute of Amsterdam,
a musical recital 'Omaggio all'Europa' has been held to celebrate the 30th
anniversary of the first treaties of the European Economical Community
which were signed in Rome, on 25 March 1957, by all member countries.
The concert was supported by Italian General Consul
Dr. Gaetano Martinez Tagliavia and by the Italian Cultural Institute of Amsterdam.
About 250 persons (Italian and foreigners) have come and they have listened
with enthusiasm to the performances of tenor Michelangelo Verso and to those
of the other singers with different nationalities, who have sung well known
parts of Italian bel canto. On that evening were also present several authorities
and Consul Representatives of Amsterdam (first among all others,
the General Consuls of Great Britain and Portugal).
